Little Puppy
Little brown puppy sitting on the step
Wagging his tail so full of pep
Waiting for the gray cat he’s chased all day
To come from under the step and play
Old gray cat is smarter than that
She’s on the window ledge taking a nap
Now she sits grinning like a merry elf
Watching the puppy make a fool of himself
Little brown puppy you’re so small
Barking ferociously, at a man six foot tall
A little boy runs out and calls him back
Back to the step and the old gray cat
The little boy picks up the old gray cat
And sits on the step with her on his lap
He pets the puppy and the old gray cat
And tells them they’ve got to take a nap
