His Choice
We so seldom realize
How fortunate we are
Until we lose a loved one
In an accident by car
And sometimes in our sorrow
We turn from God above
Wondering why He chose to take
A son, we dearly love
Then we stop and think a while
And wonder what he’s planned
Maybe given time enough
We’ll learn to understand
So we’ll keep in memory
The years we had him; and rejoice
Because if it were left to us
We couldn’t make the choice
I guess it’s good that God decides
The one it is going to be
I know I couldn’t make the choice
If it were left to me
