Endless Search

I watched a gray haired lady
Searching the halls alone
Looking for two little boys
Who are men and fully grown

It seems to be an endless search
And I’m sure she’ll never find
The little boys she thinks of as lost
Are only in her mind

Just put yourself in her place
And imagine how you would feel
The whole world seems against you
Yet to you, the search is real

I wish that I could help her
I should be able to, I’m her nurse
Whenever I try to reason with her
It seems to make matters worse

I suppose she’ll keep on searching
Until her life is through
And I so want to help her
In her endless search, don’t you?
