Days of Yore

Sometimes I long for the days of yore
When all your groceries didn’t come from the store
And little farms were all the rage
There was no thought of minimum wage

You lived on what you could grow or raise
Just take me back the good old days
And easy living of country ways
There were chores a plenty for everyone

You’d likely be all day getting done
With cows to mile and chicken to feed
The garden to hoe and water and weed
The eggs to gather, the wood to chop

Horses to water and pigs to slop
About the time you thought you were thru
The cows could get out and there’d be fencing to do
