Somebody’s Brother
Somebody’s brother was killed last night
Down from the library under a light
Someone’s daughter was driving a car
Home from spending a night in the bar
Somebody’s brother caught a ride home
With two kids, he’d scarcely known
At the intersection both failed to yield
One car hit the other near its rear wheel
The kids in the front escaped all right
But the one in the back was killed out right
Somebody’s brother was laid to rest
Someone’s daughter refused a test
Of alcohol content of her breath
Both of the drivers are scott free it seems
Ready to destroy someone else’s dream
Remember when you’re drunk and heading home
That somebody’s brother could be your own
